Then You can Make your dreams (and maybe someone else's) come true.
So Welcome to the 9th Edition of the LindseyGurl Ezine
Before We begin I Lindsey, would like to invite Kids from all over the world to share about their lives
We all have our Favorite, and Special things we like to do.
We all have places we like to go on the Internet, and we can share them with each other
here, in my Ezine

Spring Vacation
I am starting off with a link to the page made for our Spring Vacation in Hawaii
Hawaiian Vacation 2004
Thanks to Mom who made sure to get as many pictures as she could. She spent hours on the laptop every night to edit and save these, when she could have been sleeping- like me or just watching TV
Thanks also to Jer for making sure we had everything we needed to do the pictures and for putting together this website. It is Really Cool to see it all here on the Internet!
I thought Spring Vacation would never come!
For months my Mom and Grandma have been planning a Spring Vacation trip to Hawaii
Grandma goes every year and this year Mom & I got to go too!
This was something I thought I could only dream about, to tell the truth. So, when I found out we might be able to go I was very excited!
For weeks, OK for months, it was hard to concentrate on anything. I was daydreaming about walking on the beach, swimming at the pool and having fun.
I looked forward to staying with Mom and Grandma in a hotel looking over the city of Honolulu, and spending time away from home and school
But sooner than I thought we were on an airplane flying west over the ocean to Hawaii!
The same way as time went by before the vacation it flashed past. Now it is hard to believe it is over! I am already back home and it's time to go back to school again
What Did I Learn?
Mom asked what I learned by going to Hawaii this year, so here goes-
- Hawaii is over 2000 miles over water to travel for everyone who goes there.
- There are more Japanese tourists that go to Hawaii than any other group.
- Everything costs money, even going to the beach
- When grandma says "no" she means NO
- It is easy to get too much sun in Hawaii
Airplane Ride
Talk about a long ways from anywhere! As we watched the little TV in the aisle of the plane we could see a picture of our airplane
It showed where we were over the Pacific Ocean, and where the West Coast was and where we were going
The voice on the TV informed us of how far we had flown and how far we had left to go.
You could see the little jet at halfway to Hawaii and it had only been 2 and 1/2 hours. The TV also showed how far it was from Japan to go to Hawaii
To my surprise, it is about the same distance from the USA West Coast to Hawaii as it is from Japan's East Coast to Hawaii
Big Surprise! Japanese Tourists Outnumbered US Tourists
Everywhere we looked there were Japanese people having fun just like we were
On the beach, in the restaurants and stores and on the streets there were 5 Japanese people for every 1 American (looking) tourist.
The coolest thing about this was every day when we went to the beach we would see a Japanese couple taking their wedding pictures

They all smiled and waved when we took this pic!
Every day we would see a different couple in this walkway with their group usually including what looked like their parents and brothers/sisters and friends
The thing I noticed was how fancy their wedding dresses were and how friendly they were.
Whenever we asked to take a picture they gladly posed smiled, waved, or did the Hang Loose hand signal.
Everything Costs Money
Everything we did cost money!
I thought we were going to eat at restaurants the whole time we were on vacation
But the second day Mom & I went to the grocery store and stocked up on lunch food breakfast food snacks fruit and whatever we wanted to drink.
She said everything costs money and we want to save as much as we can.
I didn't think anything of it until we were on our way to the beach the first day. We had to stop and- yep! Buy some mats to lie on the sand on so we wouldn't get sand all over us
OK it was just .99 cents each, but add the tanning lotion, then we had to buy some water for our walk home and dinner.
Before I knew it we had spent over $49.00 in one day!
Then when Mom was making plans for our activities I watched as she shopped for the best deal on transportation, the best deal on a cruise and the best food deals.
It began to make sense that you have no idea how expensive travel and vacations are until you are the one planning and paying for it
Don't Talk Back to Grandma!
I learned to never talk back to Grandma! Even though grandma can be very nice and generous she will not allow any arguing
My Grandma raised 6 kids and she will not put up with any arguing,whining, or smart-aleckness. When grandma says Jump Mom & I say How high?
Mom & I were going to put a picture of Grandma holding me down telling me who was the boss, but she asked us not to because it made her look too mean
So, we put a pic of Grandma & I at the zoo in front of the monkeys where we had fun watching them do acrabatics.

I just want to say thank-you to everyone for making this vacation happen!
I want to thank Grandma D for inviting us, my Mom for making it possible and Jer for helping get the stuff we needed to make it the best time ever!
I want to thank my other family and friends for telling me to follow the rules have fun and do what Mom and Grandma say
If I could thank all the people who were nice, smiled,gave me information and travel tips it would take up too much room
I did miss my friends and school (really!) and am glad to be back home.
One more thing, I always wanted to visit Hawaii! I had no idea it would be so much fun! Thank-You everyone for the great vacation!
