Welcome to
the Eleventh Ezine!
It is pretty fun and exciting to have My Own Ezine
Look Mom Look World My Eleventh Ezine!
That Famous LindseyGurl has hit the Big Time!
Ezine means an Electronically transmitted Magazine. An ezine can be Interactive,
meaning it takes You to Places, and shows you different things to do.

Graduation From 6th Grade
My Teacher & I
Before the Ceremonies
Finally! I am officially finished with elementary school!
It seems as though grade school would never end and now,
now I am finished for ever! No more being a 'little kid'! WooHoo!
There is a lot to learn in grade school. Everyone says we are learning more and harder stuff
at this age than our parents did.
My Mom doesn't agree, but, at the graduation assembly our school Principal said
we have already learned math our parents did in High School.

6th Grade Graduation 2004
Trip To My New Jr. High School
The entire sixth grade took a field trip to our new Jr. High School. It was fun because the 8th grade students put on a show for us while we were there.
They also showed us around the school and we got to see the different classrooms.
Not only is there a separate gym for P.E. (physical education or gym class)
there will be 7 different classes and classrooms to go to every day!
Yes, I am excited! I am also scared, scared beyond words because, well, All the kids look so BIG!
I am also worried about how I am going to stay organized.
School's Out For Summer! What a relief! We could finally say "we made it through grade school"! But it was more than that. It is more than just a good bye to grade or elementary school.
This is the end of being a little kid.
Mom says I have to start acting like a young adult or a young lady now and I still want to be a kid. I want to do regular kid things like go to the pool 4 blocks from my house, play with my friends,bike ride, and of course, go skateboarding.

Going To Have Fun!
This year our class field trip was to Six Flags Marine World.
We rode the school bus and were divided in groups with six to each adult.
The rules were to stay with your group and if some people did not want to go on rides
they either had to wait or meet ad a certain spot.
Without this rule the group leader couldn't keep track of everyone.
A few kids ran off on their own and well, they got in trouble for it! It was too bad because instead of having fun they ruined it for themselves and the rest of their group had to take time out of their fun to go over the rules again.
My Favorite Ride
The MedusaRules and Amusement Park SafetyThere are rules to follow at an amusement park!
When you walk in you will see the rules posted on a big sign. Below the rules it says "If you do not follow these rules you will be removed from the park without a refund"
When you look at the rules it seems as though they are just common sense. You see things like, No Cutting In Line, No Fighting, No Horseplay
You would think these rules would not even need to be mentioned but, guess what! some kids cut in front of us in the line for the big roller coaster (called the Medusa shown in the pic')and it really made us mad!
Even if your friend holds your place for you you are still considered as cutting in line. This way it is fair for everyone who waits in the line because they get their turn to go on the ride in the order they got in line.

Class PartiesBe Polite To Others At Parties
A kid from my class had a class party at his house. My friend and I were really excited and couldn't wait to go.
When we got there his Mom had a check list to make sure we were invited, our names, parents names and telephone numbers were on the list.
We were told what we could and couldn't do. Well, one kid kept hitting and socking another kid. The Mom told him one more time and he broke a water balloon over her head.
All us kids just stood there in amazement because we all knew he was wrong, and we were wondering what she would do.
Well, the Mom called his parents to come and pick him up way before the end of the party. He was mean to the kid whose house the party was at and that kid was so upset he actually went out crying and told his Mom to send everyone home...except the girls.
He said he thought the girls were OK because they were not getting rough and out of control like the boys.
I felt really bad for him because his Mom went through all of this so he could have a graduation party and the other kids were really showing disrespect by acting up.
So, if you go to a party please, please follow the rules of the house and treat everyone with respect! This way everyone will have more fun.
Summer HomeWork Stay in practice for school
What are you doing to stay in practice for school this summer?
We have decided to do what I do during the school year to stay in practice for next year: - Every day I create 5 math problems.
This helps me especially if I give myself a 15 minute limit so when I take a pop quiz in school I am ready for it. - I also write down 5 spelling words, hard words, and write 5 1-word description of each word.
This is to improve my vocabulary. - I read out loud for 20 minutes a day
This helps because my reading is getting better and I am not afraid when I have to read out loud in front of the entire class. - This summer I plan to read 1 book per week.
One book a week isn't that much, especially if it is a book I enjoy.
My Goal is to read 3 Books a week this is to increase what I learn and be able to communicate better with everyone I meet

Speaking of Skateboarding...
We will have more responsibilities as future 7th graders and Mom says along with that comes more freedom.
More freedom means we can do more things
Without having a parent tagging along all of the time
That only given us if we earn our freedom
By showing we can follow the rules
Rules are to be Followed
What a Mistake I made
Last Months edition of my Ezine I wrote about Skateboard safety
This month I will repeat the links for these because heres the story I have to tell why its important to learn
I went against every skateboarding rule there is the other day. I will say it involved myself, our dog, and the skateboard.
I don't know what I was thinking! Maybe I was trying to impress the neighbor or thought no one would see me but it was really wrong because I put my life and our dog's life in danger.
You see my dog JLo the Bajenji my good friend and who will do anything for me...is a big dog...I thought it would be cool if taught her how to pull me on my skateboard
So the reason I am writing this is because I stupidly had her pull me down the middle of the street on the side of our house...Yes! Yes! Yes! down the middle of the Street
Whereby these are the Rules I actually broke not thinking
Called Common Sense Rules
Rules Broke
- Taught My Dog was Ok to run in Street
Whereby this is bad because teaches her to not be afraid of Cars and not look out
- I did this on a busy Street where Cars average speed is 35mph
Whereby instead of riding on sidewalk as told and picking up my skateboard and turning it around at end I instead crossed over street 2 times without looking for cars in my excitement
- I did not take into account cars could not see me if distracted or speeding
Just think if an Adult you knew hit not only a kid on a skateboard...plus their dog how they would feel...better yet if you got hit by a car how your parent or adult who watches over you would feel...when brought to my attention I sure felt bad I didn't think before what consequences could be
- I wasn't wearing my Helmet or Safety Pads
Now heres the good one because I never thought about this
- What if Jlo had seen a Cat or a Dog wanted to chase...she would have gone off in that direction
- I had No Brakes because Jlo being so Big was pulling me faster then could stop
- The Speed being pulled on a Rope if whip out in a different direction increases your speed
- Even Safety Gear won't help really cushion a Hard Surface such as...hitting a curb...car fender...or metal object
- Never Realized others...including Adults you know...can tell You scary stories of other kids known in life got either really Hurt or Killed doing less dangerous things
These are not Urban Legends but True Stories and some pretty gross especially if see Pictures
- I never Realized how much I was loved
Lesson here is just realize how people don't want to see you get hurt or possibly killed act smart

Though this story may for me be embarrassing to tell it shows even when I have written about things...I myself might even forget my own rules to follow
Plus maybe by writing about this I can help other kids to stop and think before doing something totally crazy and dangerous
Please remember, the rules are not because your parents are trying to be mean,
they are there so no one, meaning you, your friends, and yes, your pets won't get hurt!
Also, one of the rules is so important is also a law- the Helmet Law!
You know it's important or it wouldn't have been made into a law.
Please, just follow the safety laws, and yes, they are laws! Do what your parents say, and follow your parents rules because they are there for your own good!
