Welcome to
the Fourteenth Ezine!
It is pretty fun and exciting to have My Own Ezine
Look Mom Look World My fourteenth Ezine! That Famous LindseyGurl has hit the Big Time!
Ezine means an Electronically transmitted Magazine Style Newsletter
An ezine can be Interactive meaning it can take You to Places or Show You things
Hope you Believe, like I do that if You Dream it and Believe it
Then You can Make your dreams (and maybe someone else's) come true.
Plus! You can interract with this one!
So Welcome to the 14th Edition of the LindseyGurl Ezine
Before We begin I would like to invite Kids from all over the world to share about their lives. The more fun places and ideas you send to me the more I can share with others.
I share my favorite things of the month and Special things I like to do.
Also, places I like to go on the Internet, and if we share these with each other here, in my Ezine we can have more fun! So send me yours please!

Back To School With Uniforms!
Up in the left top corner is a picture of what I wear to school.
You might notice our school has a uniform policy. What do I think about it?
Well, at first it bothered me because, - I wanted to wear whatever I wanted to school
- we couldn't find any clothes to match the dress code
- I didn't think I looked good in black & white.
At first it seemed as though all clothes that were 'dress code' were gone from all the stores. It seemed like we looked everywhere! But as we looked around we found the clothes I needed in stores out of our neighborhood where we had not looked.
Now I am starting to like the idea we all have to wear the same thing. This way there is no competition like who has the latest fashions. No one can make fun of any of the other kids for what they are wearing and there are no gang colors allowed so you can't have any gang fighting because of what colors you are wearing.
Only problem is it is still summer here where I live, so the long pants, which are all we could find are still a little too hot.
Mom & I looked but we can't decent shorts or skirts that fit the dress code, so it is long pants for now.
At first I didn't like the idea of having a dress code. It just seemed like boring that we would all have to wear the same thing. Then I remembered how hard it was some mornings to decide what to wear and how some kids had all the cool clothes and made fun of the ones who weren't so lucky.
When I think about the real reasons for wearing the school uniform in the first place, it makes sense to have a uniform policy.
Why School Uniforms?
The reason public schools started wearing uniforms is to keep violence down. See, there are clicks and gangs that compete with each other and use their clothes to show which side they are on.
If you wear certain clothes it means you are part of a gang or click. So many fights were caused by clothes at the schools something had to be done.
By having a dress code us kids can't use what we are wearing against other kids.

Back To School Study Habits!
This can really help kids starting the 7th grade late, or going to a new school.
I started 7th grade 2 weeks late because I was visiting my relatives on the east coast and they could not change the airline ticket. Not only was I a week late but starting a new school too!
If you get the class quarter or year study schedule it will be easier to know what you are supposed to do every day. This is a good way to get caught up if you were sick or late starting school.
I found out that it was up to me to make sure I had all the work. No one was going to hand me the assignments I had missed or just let it go like I thought they would.
I found this out after the first progress report came to my house and ! you should have seen my Mom's face. I felt bad but didn't know what to do. Mom wrote a note to the 3 teachers asking what we could do to get me caught up with the school work so now at least I have something to work on to get my grades back to normal.
Every day after I finish my homework I do a little on my make-up work and to tell you the truth I am feeling better about this already.
