Most Important Things Come First

Pay attention in Class

Even though there are always other things to think about while we sit in the classroom the most important thing is to Pay Attention

Doing well in School is our main responsibility as a kid.

No one else but us is responsible for doing well in school

Even though we can think of a thousand reasons we did not hear the teacher or understand what she or he was saying we are still to blame if we don't find out what we are supposed to learn

Never argue or make excuses with the Teacher, even if you are Right!

If you get in trouble for talking and there are 4 other kids in the conversation do not argue with the teacher

Teachers know who was disrupting the class and usually pick the one kid who they see not paying attention the most to bring it to their attention

This way the other kids know they will get in trouble if they start talking again

Even though it seems unfair to have just picked You out of the group don't argue with your teacher

Arguing just makes it worse!

If you talk back to the teacher it takes up more class time and that is exactly what the teacher is Upset about in the first place

Pay attention when Homework is being Assigned

If you have to, write down the assignments so before you leave you can look at your list and make sure you have everything

There is nothing worse than getting home and finding out you forgot a certain book or Homework Paper

It only talke a few minutes to double check for your homework, books, and things you will need at home before you leave school

If you forget anything it will cause you to either miss assignments or recess.

It is better to have everything you need than to make it up later or get a zero for the assignment

Do not pass notes, talk, or be Disruptive in Class

Can you imagine what it would be like if Everyone was talking in class!

It would be a disaster

Remember school and doing well IS your only job

If you are talking or passing notes in class you are not doing what you are supposed to do

Not only are you going to get in trouble but you might get your friend in trouble also

Remember, recess will arrive before you know it, so wait until the bell rings to chat with your friends

School is Not a Joke! This is true, especially in your teacher's eyes

Your teacher is responsible for each of her/his students to meet certain standards

When you are doing anything else other than participating in class you are not respecting your teacher or the other kids in Your Class.

Get your Homework Done

If you have all of your homework assignments written down it will be easier to get what you need ready to bring home

Sounds obvious doesn't it!

Making a special habit of double checking your homework assignments before leaving school can save you a lot of Grief

How many times have you gotten home and not had the book, or work sheet you needed?

Makes it hard to do your homework if you don't have what you need when you get home

Anyway, to make matters worse you will either have to do it in class, during recess, or get a big fat Zero

The teachers keep a list of exactly how many homework assignments you turn in if you didn't know

Homework is a big part of your grade, so...if you care about your grade, make sure you have your homework done, and done neet
